MoonPay has raised $87 million in funding from prominent investors, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing a statement from the crypto payments startup.

What happened
Celebrity investors such as tennis star Maria Sharapova and pop star Justin Bieber participated in the company’s Series A round.

Other investors participating in the round include Hollywood actor Bruce Willis, rapper Snoop Dogg and Canadian singer Abel Marconintsfaye, also known as The Weeknd.

The investment round was first disclosed in November, but a detailed list of celebrity investors has only recently been made public.

Tiger Global Management and Coatue led the round, which valued MoonPay at $3.4 billion.

According to CNBC, the celebrities were added to a list of 60 new investors, who together contributed $87 million in a $555 million funding round announced in November.

The information also adds Chainsmokers, Drake, Eva Longoria, Jason Derulo, Kate Hudson, Paris Hilton, Matthew McConaughey, Mindy Kaling, Questlove and Shawn Mendes to the new MoonPay investor list.
