Edward Moya, senior market analyst at OANDA, said Bitcoin needs to show “more signs of life” as U.S. Treasury yields continue to fall.

“Most institutional money sees increased volatility in equities and commodities, which could dampen some of the buying momentum we typically see after Bitcoin defends key technical levels,” Moya said in a report accessible to Benzinga.

Moya commented that the $40,000 level remains “key” for the top cryptocurrency and should remain there if risk appetite remains intact.

Cryptocurrency trader Michaël van de Poppe said in a chart shared on Twitter on Tuesday that he is closely watching key levels between $36,000 and $40,000.

Also on Tuesday, Van de Poppe tweeted that Ethereum is now “performing stronger” than Bitcoin.

Ethereum traders are seen as selling at rock-bottom levels, signaling a near-term rally, according to cryptocurrency data feed provider Santiago.
